Health Outreach Partners invites you to join the Health Center Preparedness and Response Forum. This four-webinar series, hosted by HRSA National Training and Technical Assistance Partners (NTTAPs), focuses on offering strategies and promising practices for addressing challenges related to emergency planning and recovery.

Who: All health centers serving priority populations, such as agricultural workers, individuals experiencing homelessness, public housing residents, and other vulnerable groups, including older adults and Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian patients.

What: It will focus on preparing for and responding to a wide variety of emergencies.

The Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO), Health Outreach Partners (HOP), MHP Salud and the National Health Care for the Homeless Council (NHCHC) invite CHWs, Promotores and Representatives (CHW/P/Rs) to apply to participate in virtual listening sessions in October.

These listening sessions aim to address communication challenges and training needs in SDOH screening for CHW/P/Rs who work in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). Each session is aimed at a specific priority population.

Session 1 (Tuesday, October 8, 2024): Asian Americans and Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders (AAs and NHPIs)
Session 2 (Tuesday, October 15, 2024): Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Workers (MSAWs); and
Session 3 (Tuesday, October 22, 2024): Homeless/unhoused individuals

CHWs, Promotores, and Representatives that work with Migratory and Seasonal Agricultural Workers are especially needed for the Oct 15th listening session.

NCFH is excited to announce the launch of our national Agricultural Worker Health Symposia, scheduled for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. While NCFH is shifting from the previous BPHC funded three Regional Stream Forums, these new national training events promise to bring transformative workforce development trainings focused on advancing technical knowledge and collaboration in the field of agricultural worker health. This new model will offer participants a deeper dive into an agricultural worker health topic through hands-on learning and peer-to-peer sharing of strategies, challenges, successes, and resources.

The inaugural Fall 2024 Symposium will be held December 3-5, 2024, in Tampa, Florida. The overarching theme is “Emerging Issues in Preventive, Occupational, and Environmental Health.” This Symposium will explore the occupational health and safety risks agricultural workers face, including environmental, occupational, biological, and respiratory hazards.
