Liam Spurgeon, Former Program Director

Farewell Liam!

Earlier this month Health Outreach Partners said farewell to Liam Spurgeon, Program Director after 10 years of being an integral part of our organization.  Liam has been a driving force behind the success of our programs, consistently pushing us to exceed our goals.  Liam has been a mentor and friend, always willing to lend an ear and offer insight and advice. Liam has shown us how to be passionate and dedicated to our work and how to tackle challenges with grace and determination. We are deeply grateful for his hard work and commitment. He has been a source of inspiration and motivation for our team. We will miss his presence and wish him much success and happiness in his future endeavors.

Welcome Smruti!

Health Outreach Partners is excited to welcome Smruti Shah MPH to our team. Smruti is our new Deputy Director, leading our program work into the future. Smruti joined us in August and already has made a huge impact by leading our recent end-of-grant report to HRSA.

Smruti brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team. Prior to joining HOP, her work with Coaction Institute focused on capacity building for organizations focused on improving population health, including community health centers. From 2012-21, Smruti lived in India where she co-founded Lighthouse Health Solutions, a public health consulting company that provided technical support to foundations, NGOs, and health research organizations focused on maternal child health in and around Delhi. Prior to moving to India, Smruti worked at the Public Health Institute where she was part of the Advancing the State of the Art in Community Benefit (ASACB) demonstration project which was aimed at developing best practices in tax-exempt hospital community benefit programs. Smruti earned her MPH in International Health and Development from Tulane University School of Public Health. In her free time, Smruti enjoys listening to pop music, adding to her cookbook collection (already at 75!), and traveling with her family to beautiful destinations, both local and far-flung.  We are thrilled she has joined our team and look forward to working with her.
